You’re waiting for the laundry to dry at 11 pm in a Waffle House staring down the strip mall laundromat, its bright windows a beacon in the night drawing insomniacs and truck drivers like frantic moths looking for a place to settle for an hour before fluttering back out into the night, while nursing a sweet tea, feeling as smothered as the hash browns…
