Stop Using the Word “Should”

“I should lose weight.” “She shouldn’t wear that.” “You should get over it.”

We should stop overusing the word “should”. It’s critical, unkind, and unhelpful when we point it at other people and is the top of a slippery slope that ends in feeling bad about ourselves when we aim it in our own direction.
