You wrote about your pain and I hurt for you. You wrote about your triumph and I rejoiced. You wrote about things that made you reflect and remember, and I contemplated. You wrote about your travels and I was happy for you.

I don’t know you, but I know your words.

I know all of your emotions because they’re mine too. We all have all of them. I know the things that drive you to put your words out into the ether, hoping someone understands. Relates. Cares.

I know you by your stories. Your poems. Your heartfelt confessions. The little moments elevated into something exquisite. The embarrassment transformed into hilarity.

Your words feel real because you are real, even if I don’t really know you.

Here in this little corner of the world spanning web, we are all both creators and consumers, with gossamer threads of understanding and empathy linking the two.

Your words move me. They make me think. They make me laugh and they make me cry. They make me grateful.

I thought that you should know. It occurred to me that we don’t always know if our words matter. If they reach anyone. If anyone actually cares.

I do. I care.

I read your heart between the lines.

I don’t know you, but I know your words, and I’m better for them, and I love you for them.
